Notice: Emergency Action Proposals

Killearn Community Council, in partnership with Stirling Council, has set up an Emergency Group in order to deal with a possible emergency situation caused by severe weather conditions. This comprises:

  • improved communications via a ‘cascade’ telephone system linking Stirling Council with Killearn;
  • information updated, as required, displayed on KCC website;
  • a group of active residents able to respond;
  • a supply of tools and equipment
  • links to other groups able to assist:
    • Killearn Kirk (space for parking)
    • Ballikinrain (manpower)
    • private persons with access to motorised equipment.

Team

In the event of an emergency the first call may come from Stirling Council to the coordinator and/or secretary and/or chair of Killearn Community Council. They will call the list leaders Neil McArthur and/or Peter Smith who will alert members of the team.

Within the village the following groups/organisations may also be able to offer help:

  • Killearn Kirk
  • Rotary
  • Health Centre 550339

Stirling Council also has equipment and expertise which can be called upon in times of need, although it is recognised that, under some emergency circumstances, access to the village may not be possible.
